37 Week Update

We are now into our 37th week and no contractions yet.  He is definitely positioning himself well for entry into the world.  In our Ultrasound this week, he was 6 1/2 pounds and doesn't have much room for movement.  He was caught batting at the placenta again which was pretty awesome to see.  We also caught him yawning.  He must have been reading my mind because I was tired as well.  :)

Here's the latest ultrasound photo from this past week.  I love getting his profile views.  They did do a 3D ultrasound photo but Joe and I didn't really find the photo that appealing.  He looked like the Thing from the Fantastic Four.  It was a bit freaky.

The bag is pretty much packed for the hospital as we head into these final days.  I'm hoping he'll wait for me to get through this week at work as I have some last minute things to catch up on before maternity leave starts on 7/1, but I know babies have their own time frame.

We meet with the Dr. again this coming Friday and will share any updates as we get through the week.  We're getting so close and so very EXCITED!  :)

36 Week Update

We are well into our 36th week and truly heading into the home stretch.  We met with the Dr. on Friday and we are still targeting July 3rd for delivery unless our little boy decides to make an earlier appearance.  We didn't get any measurements this week but will coming up on Tuesday, June 18th.  We did get a decent profile picture of him.  He was being a little shy this day and kept putting his hands and a foot up by his face.  We also caught him batting at the placenta, which is the mass right above his head in the ultrasound photo below.  It was quite something to see.  We can't wait to meet this little baby!

35 Weeks

We are now at 35 weeks.  Baby is moving into position and continuing to grow.   I'm told I have the pregnancy waddle happening now.  My feet are nice and swollen so shoe options are limited.  Ultrasounds and Heart Beat monitoring is a weekly occurrence and all is normal.   We have new ultrasound pictures but they are not very good since baby C. is taking up all the room and they tell us it's hard to get a good profile picture.  If we can get a decent picture, we'll be sure to share it.

We had our appointment with John C. Lincoln hospital to show the proper installation of the car seat.  It was surprising to find out how much room the rear facing infant car seat takes up in the back seat.  We now see why those with babies/kids move to a mini van.

Today we ventured back to Babies R Us and purchased the rest of the items on our registry. We now have all the goodies necessary for Baby C.  Just need to get the dresser put together, get the baby room organized, wash some more baby clothes and blankets, pack the hospital bags and we should be all ready for our boy's big arrival.

34 Week Update

We are heading into the home stretch!  We met with the doctor on 5/31/13 and our plan remains the same in that we are planning for July 3rd for a delivery date unless mother nature decides otherwise.

Baby C. is just over 5 lbs and we can expect him to grow a 1 lb a week until delivery.  He will be a big boy!

We have the nursery coming together nicely.  The glider is put together which had to be the easiest piece to assemble.  The changing table is anxiously awaiting our little one.   A few weeks ago we put together the pack & play which is where he will sleep for a few months and that provided a lot of cussing during assembly.  The dresser arrived today and we will put that together this coming weekend.

This Thursday we have an appointment with John C. Lincoln hospital and they will install the base and baby carrier in the Sorento.  We thought it best to have a professional show us the proper installation the first time around.

Baby C. is kicking up a storm right now.  He must know I'm blogging about him.  More updates to come.
